  7. A. New Business Strategies • Horizontal Integration- Merge similar companies to eliminate competition, sometimes forcefully. • Vertical Integration- Buy out every step of the production process.

Wealth Distribution • Business owners accumulated a large amount of wealth while keeping their worker’s wages low. • Many justified keeping so much by giving large donations to charities and a belief in Social Darwinism . -supported the notion of individual blame and responsibility -Believed they were rich because god favored them.
