Information Governance (IG) is essential for how NHS and Social Care organizations manage information. It consists of best practice guidelines and legal principles that ensure high-quality healthcare through good information management. The IG Toolkit facilitates online self-assessment regarding Data Protection, Confidentiality, and Information Security, with specific guidelines for existing and new NHS providers. Meeting required levels in the toolkit is crucial, and organizations must submit action plans where standards are not met. This framework supports the delivery of safe and effective care.
