  2. Promotion Policy Students must: • Achieve at or above Proficiency Level 2 on the State Language Arts and State Mathematics assessments • Pass all core academic subjects

  3. State Exams for 8th Graders • ELA Exam- April 26th & 27th • Math Exam- May 5th & 6th • Science Exam- Performance- May 27th • Science Exam- Written –June 7th • Social Studies- June 14th & 15th

  4. Regents Exams for SP & Magnet • Integrated Algebra-June 18th • Spanish Proficiency- June 21st • Earth Science Performance- June 2nd • Earth Science Regents- June 22nd

  5. Exit Projects • Exit projects are done in Social Studies and Science. • Both projects MUST be done in order to graduate. (State Mandated) • Please ask teachers tonight when are they due.

  6. Extra Help • Extended Day • Monday- Thursday 2:20- 2:57 • Saturday Program • Math or ELA Classes • Session I- 9:00 to 10:30 • Session II- 10:30 to 12:00

  7. Senior Activities • Senior Trip- May 19th to Club Getaway in Connecticut • Senior Awards Night- June 8th • Graduation Rehearsal- June 11th- Queens College 10:30am -12:30pm • Senior Dance- Evening of June 11th • Graduation- June 23rd at 4:00pm - Queens College

  8. Stay Informed • Please ask your child about the informative letters that they receive in school pertaining to the upcoming events. • Senior Dues Letter • Senior Trip Letter (March 1st) *If you need additional copies please come see me at the end of the presentation.*

  9. What are you doing to ensure that your 8th grader succeeds? • Check that they are completing homework assignments • Stay in contact with teachers about progress • Support your child attending extended day and Saturday classes
