Today’s Objectives • Understand what a risk assessment and hazard is • Understand what is meant by balanced competition and the ways it can be balanced • Understand why rules are important Today’s Outcomes • Identify potential hazards and risks • Demonstrate understanding of balanced competition

  3. Risk Assessment Task • We will visit each sport facility spending 1 min at each • During that time fill in the booklet with any hazards that you see • Add any potential hazards that may develop if a class are/where in?

  4. Lesson Number – 9 - Learning Objective – 9 Page 108 Identify the risks associated with participation in physical activities and explain how to reduce these risks

  5. Sage and Scribe • With partner label yourselves A and B • A will explain what they found from the visit to the facilities to B who will record info into booklet • You have 3 mins • B’s (scribes) be ready to share some key information with the rest of the group

Hazard prevention Warm Up / Cool down • How do they reduce risk of injury? • Jot down at least 2 points for each one • List some sports where checking equipment is vital Protective clothing/equipment • List as many examples as possible of protective clothing and equipment – include sport and what its function is Checking Equipment
