  1. M-SHARP to OOMA NALCOMIS Transfer Procedures

  2. Introduction to “M-SHARP to NALCOMIS” Transfer • The use of external transfer devices (e.g. thumb drives) has become more restrictive due to Operational Security (OPSEC). • The “A:” drive is the only inputoption into OOMA • This brief provides instructions on several methods used to perform the M-SHARP to OMMA transfer. • OOMA only allows for the transfer of one flight at a time from M-SHARP via the “SHARP/FIST” interface (“A:” drive). • At the end of every transfer, the user must delete the old files on the “A:” drive, in preparation for the next transfer. The “A:” drive must be empty before starting the next transfer. Click here to read the MARADMIN 647/08

  3. Media Transfer Options • There are four options available to transfer data from M-SHARP to OOMA, • Mapped Shared Folder • CD-RW • USB, External HD, or Network Drive • Floppy Drive (Bolded options are highly recommended)

  4. Media Transfer Options • These Media Options are Normally Used When the Unit is Deployed(i.e. Deployable M-SHARP) • Floppy Drive • CD-RW • M-SHARP and NALCOMIS Do Not Coexist on the Same Network

  5. Media Transfer Options • These Media Options are Normally Used When the Unit is at Home Base(i.e. Global M-SHARP) • USB, External HD, or Network Drive • Mapped Shared Folder • M-SHARP and NALCOMIS Coexist on the Same Network

  19. CD-RW PROCEDURE with M-SHARP & OOMA on the Same Network • This procedure allows OOMA to import the M-SHARP NALCOMIS files without the use of a Floppy Disk/Drive. • By default, OOMA is programmed to import only from the A: drive. This procedure will reconfigure the computer to look at a different drive letter when called to look for the A: drive. Specifically, your CD ROM drive, in this case. • In this slide it shows Drive D: being substituted for drive A:. • Drive D: can represent a CD/Flash/Network/Mapped Drive. 1. Click on the Windows START button, then select Run… 2. In the Open box type CMD, then click OK 3. At the end of the Command Prompt line type: subst A: D:\

  20. USB , EXTERNAL HD, or NETWORK DRIVE PROCEDURE • This procedure allows OOMA to import the M-SHARP NALCOMIS files without the use of a Floppy Disk/Drive. • By default, OOMA is programmed to import only from the A: drive. This procedure will reconfigure the computer to look at a different drive letter when called to look for the A: drive. • USB Thumb Drive or External HD: your computer may assign “E…F…G”, etc. as the drive letter name. In step 3 below, you willsubstitute “A:”for the computer assigned drive letter, i.e. C:\Documents and Settings\reedrh>SUBST A: F:\ • Network Drive: the preferred drive to utilize is the H:\ as every NMCI User has a personal folder on the server under the H:\. 1. Click on the Windows START button, then select Run… 2. In the Open box type CMD, then click OK 3. At the end of the Command Prompt line type: subst A: H:\

  21. CD-RW PROCEDURE with M-SHARP & OOMA on Separate Networks • This procedure allows OOMA to import the M-SHARP NALCOMIS files without the use of a Floppy Disk/Drive. 1.
