  1. Welcome To The Services Of The Dunlap church of Christ We Are Thankful For Your Presence!

  2. Welcome To The Services Of The Dunlap church of Christ Questions? Just Let Us Know!

  3. Romans 1:16-17 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (17) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

  4. Neglected Study? • The concept of the Godhead can be difficult to learn, especially when you consider how three can be in one. • Another reason for difficulty in understanding the Godhead is we cannot compare the Godhead with anything else with which we are familiar. • Cause and Effect is reasonable.

  5. The Work of the Godhead In Redemption How significant is this study? Many, if not all, of the world’s struggles could be eased or even eliminated, if men would pay closer attention to the work of the Godhead in redemption, and then make the proper response that is demanded! Eternity is in the balances!

  6. The Most Beautiful Love Story Ever Written! • Notdreamed up in the mind of some talented writer in Hollywood. • Not authored by any mortal creature. • It was given by the hand of God himself. • Using inspired men, He penned the great story of redemption that has been anticipated and realized by people of all ages and times. • The very fact that there is redemption implies that there is also a redeemer.

  7. Some Fundamental Truths • The Godhead’s Existence (Acts 17:29; Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9) • The Divine will of the Godhead has been revealed to God’s most prized creation: mankind (Gen.2:16-17;Heb.1:1-3;Matt. 16:17; Rom. 1:16-17;I Cor. 2:7-13; Gal. 3:23) • Mankindhas transgressed the will of God and stands in jeopardy of being permanently alienated from his God (Genesis 3; Romans 5:12; 3:23; Isaiah 59:2)

  8. Some Fundamental Truths • God has intervened in order to offer fallen man a way of escape and pardon (Jer.33:8; 31:33-34; Acts 17:2-3; Eph. 1:7) • Those who accept the gift of the Godhead will be rewarded eternally (I John 5:11; Romans 6:23; Revelation 2:10) • Those who reject God’s gracious gift of redemption will suffer everlasting consequences (II Thess.1:7-9; I Pet.4:17-18)

  9. The Father Wrought It • “Wrought” as “worked into shape by artistry or effort.” • The Father was the personality of the Godhead who shaped or fashioned the beautiful piece of artwork we know to be the scheme of redemption for mankind! • Is the Father’s work more important?

  10. Some Misunderstandings • The Father is somehow more Divine in His nature than the Spirit and Son. • He is exclusively referred to as “God.” • The 2nd and 3rd Persons of the Godhead have inferior Divine qualities, and are rarely, if ever, referred to by this name.

  11. Facts Of The Case • Their differences are not in supposed levels of Divinity, but rather in the role that each performs in their united work. • The phrase “Father, Son and Holy Spirit” as spoken in Matthew 28:19clarifies Their relationship in Their roles, and demonstrates the equality shared among all members of the Godhead.

  12. Ephesians 1:3-4 “Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, (4) Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:”

  13. Ephesians 1:3-4 “Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, (4) Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:”

  14. Ephesians 3:10-11 “To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, (11) According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:” I John 4:14 “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.”

  18. The Role Of The Son To buy back that which had been stolen from the Godhead through sin. What Adam lost in Eden, Christ bought back at Calvary.

  19. The Son Bought It I Corinthians 6:20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” “Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men,” (I Corinthians 7:23) Peter warned of certain false teachers in the church who had denied “the Lord that bought them” (II Peter 2:1).

  20. The Purchase Price? • I Peter 1:18-19 – not with “corruptible things, as silver & gold” • Hebrews 10:4 – not by “the blood of bulls and of goats” • Revelation 5:9 – He “redeemed us to God by thy blood”

  21. What Did He Do? • He willfully left Heaven (John 1:1) • To inhabit the body of a man (John 1:14) • Experience the hardships & trials of flesh (Hebrews 4:15; Acts 3:18) • Accept an unjust execution sentence (Matt. 4:6; 26:51-54; John 19; Matt. 20:28) • Rise from the dead (I Cor. 15:3-4) • Ascend unto the Father once again (John 16:16-17,28; Acts 1:9-11)

  22. The Spirit Taught It John 16:7-8 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (8) And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”

  23. The Spirit Taught It • Expedient – an advantage gained • Christ assured His disciples. • The Holy Spirit’s redemptive role was instructive. • He would “reprove the world of sin.” • Whereasobedience and righteousness are in harmony with the Godhead, sin and unrighteousness are in direct opposition to the Trinity’s very nature and purpose.

  24. The Holy Spirit As Teacher • How to regain and maintain the fellowship that was lost due to sin. • John 14:26; 15:26; 16:13 • I Timothy 4:1 • Mark 16:15-20 • II Peter 1:3 • II Timothy 3:16-17

  25. The Father Wrought It The Son Bought It The Spirit Taught It The Devil Fought It Wise Men Sought & Seek It

  26. God’s Simple Plan HEAR (Romans 10:17) BELIEVE (John 8:24) REPENT (Luke 13:3) CONFESS (Rom.10:9-10) BAPTIZED (Gal. 3:27) ADDED TO THE CHURCH (Acts 2:41,47)

  27. Are You Wayward? “Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.” (Acts 8:22) “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16)
