  2. I became an engineer because: Engineering would offer a challenging career, one that would stand the test of time, and earn the respect of my peers. Solving problems came very natural to me. My engineering career is rewarding because: The satisfaction of a problem solved and knowing that the solution may very well positively affect people that encounter it.

  3. One of my most exciting projects was: Development of the TSAIA Concourse C project provided a complex challenge, having many elements. Fast-paced schedule, demolition of major existing infrastructure, variable site conditions, 24-hour continual facility operation, underground utility reconstruction, phased improvements, and highly visible project results. This project contributed significantly to my long-term professional development.

  4. Engineering Experience One single statistic has dramatically altered the way I view transportation design: Roundabouts offer up to a 90% reduction in fatal accidents. This was clearly demonstrated during the design of the C Street Interchange, as well as my own personal experience. Roundabouts are one of many ways to increase intersection safety, but a very important tool in the toolbox.

  5. Engineering Experience Public Involvement has become an integral part of my engineering work. Often, these services required public presentation of the project merits. This has lead to many spirited discussions, and in some cases, significant project changes. I have learned to be a better listener through these humbling experiences.

  6. Extra-curricular Professional Service Presenting to students during E-Week and career fairs has given me a deeper understanding of the engineering profession, and my own career. Sharing my experience with these students provides a unique opportunity and emphasizes how important each young mind is.

  7. Future Interests Providing professional services to clients and the Engineering profession, with an emphasis on “Service”. One must “walk the walk” to truly understand the meaning of service to others. I wish to lead by example, making sure that my actions are held to the highest standard. This takes energy and a positive attitude, both of which I have in ample supply.
