  2. History of the European Union. The European Union began in the 1950`s. it was called the European Economic Community. Six countries (Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Belgium) were founding members.

  3. In 1973 Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom joined. In 1981 Greece joined and Spain and Portugal joined in 1986.

  4. In 1992 a new treaty formed the European Union as we know it today. Australia, Finland and Sweden all joined the EU in 1995.

  6. In 2004 Hungary, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, CzechRepublic and Estonia joined the EU. In 2007 Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU.

  7. Europe is the mixture of different countries and people.

  8. We have different nature.

  9. We have different appearance.

  10. We like different meals.

  11. But we have common history,

  12. Common culture,

  13. Common Values

  14. Together We are Strong!

  15. It is interesting to be together!

  16. We open Europe for ourselves.

  17. Each of us is the whole world!

  18. Europe is Our Common Home!
