Review from last week • We all desire to see through God’s eyes as opposed to our own (remember 2 Kings 6) • We also agreed that God does not want us to afflict or punish ourselves, but that we are to be about His business (Isaiah 58) • That Jesus spoke very plainly about the things that are valuable in God’s site (Luke 4:18-19)

  5. So What? • We are given specific instructions about actions in James 1:23-25 • Let me remind you what the goal is (Luke 4:18-19) • And whose job is that today? (John 14:12)

  6. Greater works….. • When blessing comes, so can complacency • He does not call you to “produce” more, but you are to ask and believe Him for more • You must be on the edge of your seat looking for, seeking out, what “more” is • Greater is more in number • He was only preaching for 3 years • There was only one of Him • Jesus is into multiplication

  7. So where’s the balance? • James 1:23-25 • We must train ourselves to seek His will more • We must be attentive to the things that are most valuable to Him • Give me some ideas…..

  8. Preach the Gospel to the poor

  9. Heal the brokenhearted

  10. Proclaim Liberty to the captives

  11. Recovery of sight to the blind

  12. Set at liberty those who are oppressed

  13. Proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord
