Career Cluster Model • Career Clusters provide a way to organize careers related to your interests. • Research shows that even though most people change careers many times throughout their life, they typically stay within the same cluster. • Knowing your top career clusters will help you create a roadmap or “Plan of Study” to help you achieve your college and career goals.

  6. Go to www.collegeincolorado.org • Sign in using the information below: Click “Sign In” (dps + student ID number) dps482679 (6 digit birthday, mmddyy) 040900

  7. Some students may be prompted to answer a few questions before they may begin. • Examples: • Select your grade (11th Grade) • Answer a security question (e.g. What is my mother’s name?) • Agree to all terms and conditions

  8. Click “Learn About Yourself” Click “Career Cluster Survey” • Click “See your results now”

  9. If you have never taken the Career Cluster Survey before, talk to your counselor. • He/she may have you do one of the following: • Complete the paper and pencil version • Come back and take it later • Click “Get Started” to get your results now

  10. Review your top Career Clusters and select one to record at the top of your Plan of Study handout.

  11. Plans of Study 1. Go to www.dpsk12.org 2. Click “Departments” 3. Click “Career & Technical Education” • Click “CTE – Career Clusters and Plans of Study”

  12. Select 1 or 2 Plans of Study that align with your Career Cluster

Plans of Study • Print the top 2 Plans of Study that you are interested in learning more about • Review the bottom two sections: • Postsecondary Programs and Colorado Institutions • Career Options and Salary Range • Use these sections to complete your Plans of Study handout • Follow the “nursing” example provided on the following slide
