  3. Introduction II The Design Contest, who is it to? It is a contest for design engineers. They must design a device with a eligible part from a sponsor. Also any electronic enthusiast can make an entry to the contest. What? Whoto? Where? When? Why? Howto?

  4. Introduction III The Design Contest, where is it from? It is organized by Circuit Cellar Magazine. It is a magazine made by engineers to engineers. The magazine is based in Vernon, Connecticut (EEUU). What? Whoto? Where? When? Why? Howto?

  5. Introduction IV When can you participate? Submission deadline: 1:00 PM EST, Jan. 31, 2008 Just when the European classrooms course arrives the end. What? Whoto? Where? When? Why? Howto?

  6. Introduction V Why could you like participating? It is very exciting build a device completely. You can win $15,000 in total cash prizes! (First Place: $5,000) Winners will receive international recognition What? Whoto? Where? When? Why? Howto?

CharacteristicsSecure Web-based Chrono-Thermostat • Web-based control of the system. • Secure Access to the system by the web interface. • It makes an Automatic date and time setting-on at power up. • Web-based control of all internal parameters. • Power the chrono-thermostat through the Ethernet copper wire (PoE = Power over Ethernet). • Flash memory to save the configuration parameters. • Restoration of default parameters at power up pressing the mode button. • Obviously it can adjust the home temperature at a configurable comfortable target temperature. • We can configure up to three timers that permit automatic switch on/off the system at the desired time. • It has a simple human machine interface on a LCD display and a few switches.
