The Student Emerging Leaders Program (SELP) is designed for Black and Hispanic students ready to embrace their leadership potential. Through mentoring from professionals, collaborative group work, and engaging debates, this program provides a transformative experience. Eligible students will have the opportunity to participate in important conferences and discussions, as well as network with influential leaders. Future Leaders SELP Do you want to join the next generation of Black and Hispanic student leaders in our community?
Program SELP Through a combination of a mentoring relationship with professional business advisors, peer-to-peer group work, and interactive student debate, the Student Emerging Leaders Program will start you on a fantastic journey!
Rising 10th Graders SELP Rising sophomores (current freshmen) are eligible to apply.
Deadline SELP Application and Commitment Form deadline Friday, May 3, 2013 Students will be notified of acceptance in the program approximately one week after the application deadline.
Program SELP • Attend a preconference orientation at the beginning of school.
Program SELP Attend either the Congressional Black or Hispanic Caucus Annual Legislative Conference.
Program SELP • Work with your assigned student group to prepare your position on selected topic for a debate presentation.
Program SELP • With your group, participate in the issues debate in early February.
