  2. Classifying Polygons • You name polygons by the number of sides. • REGULAR POLYGON – ALL SIDES ARE CONGRUENT AND ALL ANGLES ARE CONGRUENT.

  3. Classifying Polygons • You name polygons by the number of sides. # of sides = 5 Name – Pentagon # of sides = 3 Name – Triangle # of sides = 4 Name – Quadrilateral

  5. Special Quadrilaterals • 2 lines are parallel in they lie in the same plane and DO NOT intersect Trapezoid – has exactly one pair of parallel lines. Parallelogram – both pairs of opposite sides parallel

  6. Special Quadrilaterals Rhombus – is a parallelogram with four congruent sides. Rectangle – is a parallelogram with four right angles Square – is a parallelogram with four right angles and four congruent sides.
