  3. Molecular Formulas • Diatomic Elements: H2, O2, N2, F2, Cl2, Br2, I2 a.k.a. Group 17, HON! • Compounds: non-metals

  5. Naming Binary Molecular Compounds • Write the names of both elements. • Change the final ending to -ide. • Add prefixes to indicate subscripts. • Don’t use mono- prefix if there’s only one of • the first element
