This document provides an in-depth overview of the various resource types supported in zLINUX and zTPF command terminals, including Library commands, password changes, and input messages tracing. It details the functionality of local 3270, ALC, and printer terminals, along with their allocation during user log-in. Additionally, it covers debugging capabilities with user-defined and MQ resources, as well as TCPIP and XML message tracing. Users can gain insights into resource management and the specific conditions for resource allocation and debugging.

Resource types supported • Linux Terminal • Input commands for zLINUX • Typical usage: • Library commands • Password change for zLINUX ID • Etc.
Resource types supported • Command terminal (TCMD) • Input commands for zTPF • Input messages from this terminal not traced • Pre-allocated at the time user log-in • LNIATA Remains fixed for each user • Support already available
Resource types supported • ALC terminals • ALC type terminal • Input messages to be traced • Can trace transactions • Macro trace • SV trace • One resource allocated at the time of user log-in • Additional resource can be acquired on demand • Support already available
Resource types supported • Local 3270 terminal (LOC) • Local-3270 type terminals • Can trace transaction • Macro trace • SV trace • One resource allocated at the time of user log-in • Additional resource can be acquired on demand
Resource types supported • Printer terminal (ALP) • ALC-printer terminals • Read-only type resource • Accepts output messages from zTPF for the printer • One resource can allocated optionally at the time of user log-in
Resource types supported • User defined • User defined resource can be used for asynchronous tracing • Allocated on demand • Associate the resource to a application program name loaded in zTPF • First transaction entering the program will become the candidate for the debugger • Additional criteria can be specified to become the candidate: • Register having specific value • ECB field having specific value • Data level having specific at a specified displacement • DREF – Address in a specific field (ECB field / register) + displacement having a specific value
Resource types supported • MQ • Allows debugging of input messages from MQ queues attached to zTPF • Associates the resource with a specific queue name • MQ queue name • Optional filter conditions: • Register having specific value • ECB field having specific value • Data level having specific at a specified displacement • DREF – Address in a specific field (ECB field / register) + displacement having a specific value
Resource types supported • TCPIP (INET) • Allows debugging of messages coming through TCPIP in to zTPF • Associate the resource with a INET name defined in zTPF • Additional criteria can be specified to become the candidate: • Origin IP address • Socket descriptor • Optional filter conditions: • Register value • ECB field value • DREF – Address in a specific field (ECB field / register / data level) + displacement
Resource types supported • XML • Input messages in XML format • Can trace transactions • Macro trace • SV trace • Resource allocated on request
