NGO Sensitization

DESCRIPTION

This sensitization initiative led by Kwami Afutu in Accra addresses tuberculosis (TB), a bacterial disease primarily affecting the lungs and spreading through the air. TB can be transmitted by coughing, sneezing, shouting, singing, or talking. Despite a national case rate of 57 per 100,000, challenges like a high defaulter rate (over 13%) and low case detection persist. The program emphasizes innovative strategies such as community-based care, education, and the six-month DOTS treatment policy to improve TB management and foster community participation in prevention efforts.
