The purpose of Nu Rho Psi: • To encourage professional interest and excellence in scholarship, particularly in neuroscience; • To award recognition to students who have achieved such excellence in scholarship; • To advance the discipline of neuroscience; encourage intellectual and social interaction between students, faculty, and professionals in neuroscience and related fields; • To promote career development in neuroscience and related fields; • To increase public awareness of neuroscience and its benefits for the individual and society; and • To encourage service to the community.

  3. A brief history of Nu Rho Psi • Founded in 2006 by the Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience (FUN) • Nu Rho Psi is now an independent, non-profit, grass-roots organization comprised of neuroscientists, like you

  4. Nu Rho Psi is growing! • Nu Rho Psi has awarded 68 charters to Colleges and Universities in all 4 regions of the US • In early 2016 we exceeded the 3000-member milestone

  5. Nu Rho Psi Governance • The national organization is lead by a Council elected by the membership: • President • President-elect • Immediate past-president • Treasurer • Secretary • Vice Presidents for the Northeast, Midwest, South and West regions • Executive Director
