  2. “Big Picture” Nutrition • Diets Don’t Work • Small steps add up to BIG changes • Start with Tracking • Plan Ahead • Remember the Basics – Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains, Lean Protein and Healthy Fats • Be Present – Listen to your body and what it needs

  3. Think about the Behavior, Not the Outcome • What BEHAVIOR do you want to try to work on? • How long are you going to give yourself to work on this behavior?

  4. Nutrition Action Plan Examples • Start Tracking Intake • Add vegetables to my diet • Start packing lunch instead of eating out • Start cooking at home • Start eating breakfast • Start rating my hunger and eating based on what my body is telling me

  5. Example 1: Start Tracking Intake • I will start tracking my entire intake using the MYFITNESSPAL App. (WHAT and HOW MUCH) • I will do this 2 days a week: Sat and Sun, for 1 month and reevaluate (WHEN/HOW OFTEN) • My confidence level is a 9 that I can implement this action plan. • I will celebrate my progress by purchasing a 5-class yoga pass.

  6. Example 2: Add Vegetables To My Diet • I will add I serving of vegetables at lunch and 2 servings of vegetables at dinner (WHAT and HOW MUCH) • I will do this 5 days a week: M-F, for 1 month and reevaluate (WHEN/HOW OFTEN) • My confidence level is 8 that I can implement this action plan. • I will celebrate my progress by getting a massage.
