  1. Uusi mutaatio vanhemmat mutaatio sukusolut lapset sairas lapsi Vanhemmat ovat terveitä eikä kummallakaan ole kyseisen sairauden geeniä. Uusi mutaatio syntyy sattumalta joko munasolun tai siittiön tiettyyn geeniin. Saman sattuman toistuminen pariskunnan seuraavissa raskauksissa on äärimmäisen epätodennäköistä. Sen sijaan lapsen omille lapsille sairaus periytyy vallitsevasti eli dominantisti. Norio-keskus 2013
