Dear Friends I must apologise for stepping down as your President only a few months of my appointment.  Believe me, I did so with great regret. President of the European Microlight Federation is the aviation appointment in which I have taken the greatest pride. Together, my dear friends, we have taken this federation from no more than a magazine article in 2003 to what it is today the strongest pan-European sports aviation organisation.

  3. Maybe you think that I exaggerate? Perhaps you feel that the different views we hold mean that we are not strong? If so you are wrong. Our strength is that we have always found a way to resolve our differences and every vote has been unanimous. Evidence of our strength is that Europe Air Sport and EASA take us very seriously indeed.  They both now that it will be an act of folly to try to impose on us a regulatory regime we will not accept.

  4. So the EMF is strong.  But for me the greatest strength is our friendship.  When our meetings are closed for the day we enjoy each other’s company.  This has a value beyond words because it make us WANT to solve the problems of the day, which is half the battle. And this friendship, which is so important, has made me determined to see you all again.  I finished my treatment yesterday and I hope very much to join you this evening.  In the meantime I wish you all an enjoyable and productive conference.
