Technology Savvy … It’s The Way Children Are Today • Students in this decade are much more technology savvy than most teachers. • Students become very independent once they have been shown the proper way of using technology and realize its purpose for instruction.
Adding Technology Into Your Lessons Creates A Wonderful Experience for Your Students • Adding technology into the classroom increases enthusiasm. • It is a wonderful way to get students actively involved in learning. • When appropriate, incorporating technology seems the best way to go!
Technology Forms Used in the Classroom • SuccessMaker – math program; research proves that it improves math performance • Buggles – reading program; reinforces phonemic awareness and phonics skills • Kurzweil – read aloud software program, specifically for learning disabled students, state approved program for the MSA
Other Programs Used to Aid Special Education Students • Kidspiration – graphic organizer program • Microsoft Office – power point and word programs are most often used
