  13. Technical Requirements: • Technical Requirements for NC Education Professional Development Courses • NC Education is a web-based Learning Management System with extra features. • All features should work with most recent versions of web browsers (less than two years old) running on workstations, laptops, and tablets. • 1024 x 768 screen resolution is preferred for acceptable performance. Higher screen resolutions improve performance.  Lower vertical resolutions for netbook devices are possible, but will increase the amount of scrolling required. • Web browsers with extra add-ons may experience issues with the use of the site.  Temporarily disable extra add-ons if the site displays or works poorly. • Adobe Flash 11 or better is required for web browsers that do not support HTML5. • JavaScript must be allowed in web browsers used. • Session state cookies must be allowed in web browsers used. • LEAs/schools must allow all web traffic from center.ncsu.edu (standard and secure). • Bandwidth footprint per user is similar to many other Internet applications.  When users request (click on) content that delivers rich media the bandwidth required will escalate significantly. If problems occur with many users using NC Education at the same time or users accessing video or interactive resources, reduce numbers of users on the local network or wireless access point unless other issues are suspected (NC Education, n.d.).

  14. Happy Testing!
