  2. David Solomon (David’s son) After King Solomon, the Kingdom split KING JEHOSHAPHAT 4th king of Judah 35 years old when he became King! His name means “The Lord Judges” North – Kingdom of Israel South – Kingdom of Judah

  3. Mom – Azubah Dad - King Asa King Asa did good but when he was dying his faith weakened. He didn’t seek God at the time of his death. Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.

  4. What did King Jehoshaphat do? 1- He had good communication with the kingdoms around Judah. 2- He removed the high places and the wooden images from Judah.

  5. What did King Jehoshaphat do? 3- He sent his leaders to the different cities to teach the people the rules of the kingdom. 4- He sent the Levites to teach the people the religious rites, rituals and hymns. 5- He sent the priests to teach the people the Book of the law and how to worship God.

  6. He was a good king and he reigned in the fear of God so he had many blessings. 1- There were no wars between him and the surrounding kingdoms. 2- The Palestinians gave him gifts. 3- God made him prosper and established his kingdom. BUT... God allowed a tribulation to come upon him

  7. The people of Moab and the people of Ammon and others with them came to battle Jehoshaphat. What do you think he did?

  8. 1 - He turned his face to heaven and set himself to seek God. 2- He proclaimed a fast through all Judah 3 - He prayed saying: “For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You” (2 Chronicles 20:12)

  9. A prophet named Jahaziel, the son of Zachariah stood in the midst of the assembly and said: “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15) Even though they will go to war, they will not fight and God will be with them.

  10. The next day, Jehoshaphat and all the people went to the battle and Jehoshaphat told his people: “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” (2 Chronicles 20:20)

  11. He asked all those who sing and praise the Lord to go ahead of the army and say: “Praise the LORD, for His mercy endures forever” (2 Chronicles 20:21)

  12. While they were praising, the people of Ammon and Moab faugh against the inhabitants of Mount Seir! Because they trusted God, He gave them victory over their enemies.

  13. If we feel the presence of God in our lives and we trust Him, our life will be filled with prayer!
