Library - Pros • Universal catalog system to classify and organize resources • Professional books, newspapers, magazines, etc. that were edited before publication • Free access to printed materials • Archived materials • Free internet and other electronic resources • Knowledgeable reference librarians to help locate resources

  4. Library - Cons • Resources can be checked out by others and not always available • Publications do not provide updated information • Specific hours to gain access

Internet - pros • Access 24/7 • Websites updated constantly • Two-way communication • Access to many newspapers, magazines, journals, and encyclopedias • Sites can feature rare books, documents, and collections • Complete multimedia experience (text, graphics, video, audio, hyperlinks, and interactive features)

  6. Internet - Cons • No system to catalog or organize all resources • Anyone with an internet connection can publish a website • Reliability of information not guaranteed • Archived material might only date back a few years • Some resources available with subscription only • Internet access is often not free • No knowledgeable librarians to help you find resources
