What is the IB Diploma Program? • Goal: provide a balanced program of international awareness, critical thinking and rigorous assessments • 11th & 12th Grade Program • In-Depth study across six disciplines: English, World Languages, History, Sciences, Mathematics and the Arts • Focus: Problem Solving, Making Connections, Research, Oral and Written Communication and Organizational Skills

The IB Diploma Program at CityVisit: www.ibo.org Why should my child take IB Diploma Program Classes? • Taking advanced courses is the best predictor of admission to selective colleges. • The number of advanced courses that a student takes is directly related to the amount of scholarships and financial aid a student receives upon graduation.

Requirements & Deadlines • How does my child qualify for IB classes? • 85 and above average in the subject area • Completion of an essay and application • Teacher recommendations • December 19, 2014 – Sophomore Interest Meeting • January 13, 2015 – Sophomore Parent Interest Meeting • January 23, 2015 – Applications due, Room 102
