  8. Benefit: Accident and Injury Fund (AIF) • An exclusive Fund for FBU Members • Critical because RDS Members could lose two incomes • In addition to employer’s sickness provisions • In addition to employer’s pensionprovisions

Benefit: AIF payments • Temporary disablement:30% of aWholetime Firefighter’s weekly pay (12 months qualifying period for on duty injury or illness/ 6 months for off duty illness/injury) • Permanent disablement:50% of a Wholetime Firefighter’s annual salary as a lump sum • Death of member: 100% of wholetime firefighter’s annual salary + 20% for each surviving dependant child • Death of member’s dependant:20% of a Wholetime Firefighter’s annual salary as a lump sum Detailed provision and exclusions are explained in Rule 30
