  2. Backgroud • This is the second chapter on the instructional analysis process. After the steps in the goal have identified, it is necessary to examine each step to determine what learners must already know or be able to do before they can learn to perform that step in the goal. The second step is subordinate skills analysis.

  3. Concepts • Hierarchical approach: it is used to analyze individual steps in the goal analysis that are classified as intellectual or psychomotor skills. • Cluster analysis

  4. Subordinate skills analysis for attitudes goals • Entry behaviors

  5. Examples • Hierarchical analysis of an intellectual skill • Cluster analysis fro verbal information subordinate skills

  6. Summary • In order to begin a subordinate sills analysis, it is necessary to have a clear description of the main tasks learners need to perform in order to accomplish the instructional goal.
