Getting a Passport ID

1. Getting a Passport ID • Start Windows Messenger. (Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Messenger.) • In subsequent sessions, you can start Windows Messenger, by double–clicking • the Windows Messenger icon    near the clock in the lower right corner of • your screen.

2. Sign in • If you already have a .NET Passport, your user name will appear on • the sign-in screen .It will sign in Automatically. • Click “Click here to sign in “ if you are signing in for the first time

3. Sign in • The .Net Messenger Service window will ask for an e–mail address and password. If you already have an MSN® Hotmail® account or a .NET Passport account, enter the information. If you have more than one account, choose your account from the drop–down list. • If you do not have one of these accounts, click Get a .NET Passport in the lower left corner. Follow the instruction in the .NET Passport Wizard.

4. Sign in • You can use any email account to create your Passport ID. Check Yes in the options to use your email and click Next. • You might have to verify your email address. Follow the instruction in the window that pops up in the right hand corner of the screen.

5. Adding Contacts • After you sign–in, Windows Messenger will open, displaying your list of contacts and online status. If you are using Windows Messenger for the first time, click Add a Contact to start building a contact list
