Validation Dedicated RAOB Status

This document reviews the validation efforts and coordination of the RAOB (Radiosonde Observations) campaigns for the years 2012 and 2013 under the CrIMSS program. It highlights the postponement of the 2012 AEROSE campaign to 2013 and outlines the RAOBs that were planned and funded for both years. The update includes information on overpass/launch monitoring, issues encountered at TWP sites, and the initial quality assurance processes for granule matchups at NSA and SGP sites.

ARM Near-Real Time Dedicated RAOB Task (“7-Day Delay”) • Obtaining and tabulating overpass/launch information for Year-2 Dedicated RAOBs currently being launched at ARM sites • Plan to update on a quasi-weekly basis • So far only NSA and SGP sites; having problems getting RAOBs for TWP site • Obtaining matchup granule “stamps” • IDPS SDRs, TDRs, CCRs, EDRs • Working with Bomin Sun on NPROVS side • RAOB data degraded to 100 effective RTA layer • Working with Frank Tilley on NPROVS-side • Performing initial QA on matchups
