This project focuses on developing a harmonized protocol for manual hippocampal segmentation to enhance consistency and accuracy in research studies. The initiative aims to evaluate the validity of this unified protocol across various institutions and experts. Led by a collaborative workgroup consisting of prominent researchers and advisors from the EADC and ADNI, the project involves harmonizing existing segmentation protocols and comparing them against the gold standard of manual segmentation. The ultimate goal is to establish a reliable and standardized method for hippocampal tracing that can be utilized in clinical trials and population-based studies to assess disease progression and treatment efficacy effectively.
