  2. Student Enrollment Data • MATES has recently developed an Expansion Committee to look at a variety of ways to increase enrollment to accommodate more students.

  3. Average Daily Enrollment 2016-17

  4. Due to the lottery priorities in our charter, our diversity does not show much difference from year to year. It is important to note that our outreach efforts do reach to greater diversity than is shown in our population.

  6. The 2016-17 marketing and community outreach program focuses on our desire to recruit and retain a student body that is representative of the ethnic and racial diversity of the CVUSD as a whole, while continuing to serve students in the former Meadows attendance area.

GATE testing occurs in February, at which time current 3rd graders are identified. • ** MATES did not have a hot lunch program, many of our families who may have qualified as Socio-Economically • Disadvantaged did not report this status.

CAASPP ELA Results LCAP Goal #1:Students will increase academic achievement. 71% Met or Exceeded Standards 43% Exceeds Standards 28% Meet Standards 19% Standards Nearly Met 10% Standards Not Met 44.39% Exceeds Standards 75.94% Met or Exceeded Standards 31.55% Meet Standards 18.72% Standards Nearly Met 5.35%Standards Not Met Our All Students group increased in meeting or exceeding standards by 4.94% and dropped our numbers of students nearly or not meeting standards by 4.93% with the greatest decrease in students not meeting standards.

This decrease was 10.25%. A significant number of students are Nearly Meeting Standards. *** 16 students assessed.

  17. How Does MATES Compare? The MATES CAASPP Scores exceed the CAASPP scores of the Conejo Valley Unified School District as a whole and the neighborhood district school, Westlake Hills.

Progress on LCAP Goals • What changes in actions, services, and expenditures will be made as a result of reviewing past progress and/or changes to goals? • Last year, we implemented an Independent Learning Plan process for all English Learners. We met with each family to create goals to help increase their English Language Acquisition. These goals are for home and school. • Additionally, these students work with our Response to Intervention to help build their academic skills.

Progress on LCAP Goals • What changes in actions, services, and expenditures will be made as a result of reviewing past progress and/or changes to goals? • In addition to differentiated learning within the classrooms, these students work with our Response to Intervention to help build their academic skills. • All grade levels have developed a grade-level specific toolkit to allow parents to find resources to help their children at home. • After parent-teacher conferences in October, students not meeting standards will be invited to an afterschool homework lab.

Progress on LCAP Goals • What changes in actions, services, and expenditures will be made as a result of reviewing past progress and/or changes to goals? • The MATES teachers are currently working on a behavior matrix to align expectations of age appropriate behavior. This matrix will offer suggestions for rewards and consequences for such behaviors. • Our school psychologist offers social-emotional support groups for students with needs in this area. • We continue to honor our students who do the right thing with our school core values program – The HEART of an • Eagle.
