  1. 1. Music and Movement: Think back to the first time you heard music; the beat, the melody, maybe a voice. You move your body, wiggle around and enjoy the irresistible sounds! In ballroom dancing, we get to turn the random wiggles and awkward movements into dancing with structure, style and grace. With practice and instruction from dance classes in Katy at Rhythm inc. Dance Studios, your child will not only develop moves to the rhythm, but will gain an inner feel for music. 2. Body Development: Ever notice how you can easily spot a dancer from afar? Their posture, flow of movement and confidence seem to give them away. Training in ballroom dancing consists of constant physical fitness paired with learning to move the body in a controlled way. Ballroom dancers must be able to stop on a dime – from slow and continuous movement to sharp and static. Not to mention this is all done with a partner, which brings us to the third reason. 3. Mutual Love and Respect: One of the many things ballroom dancing has that is truly unique in the dance world is partnership; a team of two people learning to work together and collaborate on movement and ideas. Working as a partnership in dancing cultivates an invaluable skill for children AND adults as they must respect each other in order to maintain a successful partnership. Learning how to stay positive, solve problems and work as a team is a crucial skill kids will need for any relationship they will encounter in life.
