  2. Section 1: Overview of Tasks

Prior to WGISS-26: • Worked with LSI working group to develop LSI portal, Phase 1 - the HTML site • Achieved operational edition of LSI portal, Phase 1, at UMD server. • Accomplishments since Winter-Spring 2008-2009 include: • Moved primary copy of LSI portal to MIT server, with rest of CEOS pages, leaving UMD server for development. • Coordinated documents held for Working Group on Regional Data Set Compilation (WGRDSC) • Coordinated sample imagery archive with goals of the WGRDSC • Bryan Bailey presented our LSI portal at GEO-V, in Bucharest. • Bryan Bailey presented our LSI portal at SIT-23,  in Cocoa Beach, FL. • Worked extensively with Bryan and national space agencies to review and update LSI pages • Worked extensively with Bryan to streamline content and improve functionality • Initiate Phase 2 of LSI portal: converted HTML page attribute tables to database. • Launch of LSI portal on CEOS web site.

Planned Tasks for Summer 2009: • Attend WGISS-27 • Work with LSI portal team to achieve Phase 2 consensus • Develop Phase 2 of LSI portal (Initiate Search Abilities) • complete attribute search capability • initiate spatial search capability - via Google API or MapServer. WFS (WCS?) compliance • initiate registry search capability - via ECHO, metadata protocols, data pools, etc. • enable accessibility to remote archives

Possible tasks for Fall-Winter 2009/2010: • Attend WGISS-28; present Phase 2 of LSI portal; discuss Phase 3 • Develop Phase 3 of LSI portal • complete spatial search capability • continue registry search capabilities • continue enabling accessibility to remote archives • Full migration of LSI portal to CEOS server (vs UMD development server) • Attend WGISS-29, depending on when it is held; present Phase 3 of LSI portal • Continued coordination with the LSI Constellation team and Bryan Bailey, with possible expansion to other types of imagery. • Continued coordination with the Working Group on Regional Data Set Compilation. • Continued coordination with the IT assistance provided to CEOS by Allan Doyle at MIT and Courtney Davis at WISP/NOAA.

  6. Section 2: Search by Attribute Interface

  7. Begin building a query using the Search by Attributes interface

  8. 1. Scroll to choose a satellite.

  9. 2. Click Add to make the satellite searchable 3. Click SEARCH to query the database

  10. 4. The results are imagery available to download

  11. 5. Widen the search by adding a sensor 6. Refine the search by specifying wave length range, then click Search

  12. 7. The results include all images of the specified satellite and/or sensor that fit the range parameters

  13. Another function is the ability to browse the database and make selections

  14. Section 3: Search by Map Interface
