  1. Best Achievements from an NGO Perspective - Ri’ayah Foundation, Inc. The Ri’ayah Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2017 and subsequently received our status as a 501(c)(3) organization in October of that year. We immediately began developing programs to assist the children and youth of Liberia. We uploaded our website, riayah.org, enabling us to share our vision, find sponsors for students, and request and accept donations of money and supplies to help us achieve our goals. We have also held short-term fundraising campaigns during the holy month of Ramadan.

  2. Other accomplishments: We purchased land in Clay Ashland to demonstrate farming techniques and to build a school, orphanage and healthcare facility. We enrolled and maintained support for fifteen students between the ages of 6 and 15 in schools for the entire 2018-2019 school year. While this is the first time most of them had ever attended school, we are proud to say that all of them completed their first year successfully. Most of the students didn’t even know the alphabet. Our goal for the first-time students was for them to learn first-grade basics, but they exceeded our expectations by doing far better. None of these students received less than a C average, and one student even got a double promotion! We have re-enrolled these fifteen students plus an additional five students for the new school year. Part of the accomplishment in this feat is not just the five new students, but the fact that all fifteen students have returned for a second year.

  3. We have distributed medical supplies to hospitals and clinics most in need. New donations received continue to be placed in the areas of most need. We have been farming a portion of the land we bought for the school, orphanage and healthcare facility. This is the beginning of a program to teach best agricultural practices, good nutritional choices, and self-sufficiency. This program will help improve the physical and economic health of individual farmers, their families and community. We distribute food annually during the holy month of Ramadan. We began by distributing food to students and families in our sponsorship program, and have expanded the program each year. For the past five years, we have distributed food in the Po River, Clay Ashland and Iron Factory communities.
