Meet the Teacher Evening Welcome to 4M !! Mrs. Lise Middleton
A bit about myself • Graduated from the St. Thomas University with a major in Languages and Psychology. • Received my Teaching Degree with an emphasis in Special Education from Acadia University • Afterwards was awarded an English Language Assistantship in France • Worked as an Administrative/Resource Special Education Teacher and as a Classroom Teacher in the Ontario School System. • This is my 11th year at Collingwood

General School Information Daycare • Daycare is an option for working parents at 7:30am in the FSC. After school, children with working parents may use daycare. Must be registered • Very important to note that it is not a ‘Play Centre’, parents should try to pick up as soon as possible at the end of the day • If an emergency, non registered students cannot join daycare due to licensing numbers…will be taken care in class until you arrive • Absences: please go to school website and fill in the attendance notification form (quick links) NEW
General School Information School Day • Homeroom is done at 8:30am, attendance is done by 8:40, if you arrive later you must get a late slip from reception Parking, Drop-off and Pick-up • drop-off -- please give yourself extra time in the morning, always better to arrive early. • pick-up -- be sure to put traffic pass on the dashboard, be punctual (not early or late) in order to make a most efficient process for all families • At any time, do not park on gravel lot or block it unless you are picking up JK children • carpooling, parking on upper streets and getting your children, will all help ease traffic at the end of the day

General School Information Uniforms • Label all belongings • #1 dress on Wednesdays • Be aware of PE days (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) arrive dressed on Monday and Tuesday • Consider having waterproof boots/clothing Allergy-aware school • Please be aware and considerate of allergies within class, especially when sending in treats: nuts, dairy snacks P.E: Monday Tuesday Thursday

Homework Expectations • Always posted to the class website. Also posted on the whiteboard and it is the student’s responsibility to record in their agendas. • Students respond to the weekly blog post directly on the website. • Paragraph/written homework can either be done via students’ mycw /Google account where each student has already created a homework file or written in their homework notebook. If completed on the Google Drive, each time students complete an assignment it should be titled and dated. It will then automatically be shared with me. This has already been set up for each student. • Login for each child is firstname.lastname@mycw.org • Homework • Reading • 20 minutes everyday • Homework • Math (will be assigned by your child’s math teacher) • Language Skills (paragraph, Blog response) • French (website is linked to our Weebly site)

Upcoming Field Trips • September 23rd-26th • All Grade 4 students should arrive at school by 7:30 and will be departing from Wentworth at 7:50am Wednesday morning. Students are asked to drop all bags off outside the back door of their classrooms. • We will return at 4:00 on Friday afternoon for pick up from Wentworth. • September 22nd: Whytecliff Park: Shoreline Clean-up, Ecology based activities, leadership games. Regular arrival time at Wentworth, 4:00 return to Wentworth. • September 21st: Grouse Mountain: First Nations Activity, Ecology Activities-all guided by Grouse staff. Regular arrival time at Wentworth, 4:00 return to Wentworth.
