  2. Key Assumptions • The Test Team will support the new release and previous release to end of solution pilot, i.e. 2 concurrent versions in Test Execution at a given time. E.g. Au Patch Testing on 2.1 is now handed over to GSAM so Test team focussed on R3 UK and 3.2 etc. • The exception to this is regression testing of live release of GSS to next release of DART. • Regression Testing will have two areas of focus: • Product ‘Upgrade’ Test: test an upgrade of existing country to the new release of Retalix code and configuration work, e.g. UK configuration works on R4 Codeset. • Integration Regression (see next slide) • DART backward compatibility: e.g. GSS R3 UK works with DART R4 • GSS Upgrade integration test: GSS UK on R4 codeset works with DART R4 (level of integrated regression of this state tbc. • Upgrade Testing of existing countries will be secondary priority to the main deployment test phase (i.e. tests associated with getting the new country live). However, this work should be planned to take place during the new country test window as any integrated testing with DART has a dependency on DART ITC enviro being available – this is only available until next release moves into test. E.g. if we need to integration test GSS 4 Au against DART R4 we must do this before DART moves R4.2 into integration enviro.

Key Issues & Risks • The level of overlaps in the plan requires new resource as resource does not complete previous release in time for work on the next release to start. • This presents a significant risk as it is not possible to ramp up the numbers of resources required this quickly in BDC – this will need to be mitigated with other resource types. • Regression Testing strategy work is not yet complete – we have made some assumptions on resourcing levels for this for ANZ 3.2 release and US R4 but this is P20 at best. Work is needed to try and reduced the level of integrated regression testing. • Upgrade Testing – the level of Product Testing of an upgrade of an existing country is not yet factored into these estimates – we need to gain agreement that our principle is we want to go to the next release in all live countries immediately.

  13. Test Prep Product Test • Product Test Prep effort estimated at ~360 man-days effort. This is 9-10 FTEs including Matt who will lead the scripting for duration of March and April. • Similar number of conditions identified to UK R3 (2700 conditions took ~375 days vs. 2600 conditions estimated at 360 days for US R4) • Level of Product change significant • many CRs opening up new areas of functionality in Retalix (e.g. Flex Range, outdoor payment) • CRs span whole of the GSS product, e.g. Tax impacts a number of areas of the GTM (POS, BOS, Inbound, Reports). • 2 new forecourt controllers and one new EPS • Scope of Test Prep assumes Product Test prep for US R4 to early May. • Some of the team could then be used during May to update the GTM for Au R4, UK R4 regression tests – these are not currently factored into the resource model for prep or execution as not critical path. However, it is recommended that this is planned in to enable GSS to move to single code base as soon as possible for this release. Integration Test • Starts in April based on DART availability – Need to confirm Local availability for S2K/QB etc. • Integration Test Prep does include planning regression test of UK R3 GSS against R4 DART. AU TBC as assume this would be done from Au Test team?
