  3. Aug 25 & Sept 7 • 4. Use one-two adjectives to describe the following characters (see pg 5): Brother, Sister, Mom, Dad and Aunt Helen. • 5. Charlie says that Susan used to be a lot of fun but now that she is in high school, she acts a lot dumber. Why do you think this is?

  11. Oct 15 24. Charlie never went to church but he believes in God but doesn’t give God a name. What does this mean? 25. According to C’s dad, even if Charlie’s sister’s bf did have an abusive parent, it does not give him an excuse to hit her. Why? (pg 28)

PART TWO: Nov 7 • Describe Mary Elizabeth in three-four complete sentences. • How did Patrick and Brad meet? • According to Patrick, after he and Brad first hooked up, it “was like the weight of the whole world left their shoulders”. What do you think this means? • Brad always says he was really wasted so never remembered hooking up. Do you think he really was that wasted or was he just saying that? Why would he say that if it wasn’t true?

W Why isnt it necessarily a thoughtful gift? 21. When Charlie is outside the party after his terrible screwup, he starts to cry.   26. April 18 and Apr 26 22. At the end of the letter marked Apr 18, he says “something is really wrong with me”. Do you think something is wrong with him? Why or why not? 23. When Charlie calls Mary Elizabeth, she says “its too late”. What does she mean by that?

  27. Apr 26 24. Charlie is going through a rough time but his family has had some good news. What TWO good things have happened to the,? 25. Charlie says he wishes someone would just tell him what is wrong with him and how he can be “different in a way that makes sense”. What advice would you give Charlie if you were his friend?
