Daily Timetable • 8:45 Bell for registration. • 8.45 -9:15 Early Morning Work • 9.15 – 10:15 Mathematics • 10:15 - 10.45 Grammar • 10:45 – 11:00 Play time • 11:00 – 12:00 English • 12:00 - 13:00 Lunch • 1:00 Monday: Swimming Tuesday – Sportscape & French Wednesday- Science Thursday - RE , Music & Art Friday – Topic & ICT • 3:00 Class Story • 3:15 Hometime Whole school assemblies on Monday and Friday 2:40 – 3:00 , KS2 singing assembly Wednesday 2:40 – 3:00
Homework Year 3 and 4 • Tuesday Homework will be sent home every Tuesday to be returned to school by Monday. Generally English and Maths, occasionally Topic or Science • Friday Spellings and timestables will be sent home to be tested the following Friday. Try to read EVERY night – 10 minutes

Homework • Set a time limit 30 minutes maximum for each piece • Practise spellings and times tables five minutes a day • Homework should be neatly presented. The children know the expectations for work at school and this should be the same for their homework. • Please leave a note in book if your child struggled to complete the tasks. • Homework will generally be a recap of work covered that week in class.
Ideas to help with homework • BBC schools Age 4 – 11 • Good for topic work and games linked to subjects – Spellings – Spell it. Good for revision of Science, Literacy and Maths- Bitesize KS2 • www.woodlands-junior – great for all curriculum areas • ictgames – lots of maths games with specific learning objective and year group

Our first school trip…we will be taking part in a “Day in the life of an evacuee”, on Tuesday 2nd October at Tatton Park. During our visit, the land girls, who worked at Tatton during the war, will set the children to work, introduce them to the animals they will help to look after and sing popular wartime songs in the air raid shelter. Aunt Mary who lives in the Farm cottage, will show the evacuees their new home, discuss rationing and produce food cooked on a range as well as talking about household chores and teaching some local and national history.
