  1. JOHN 3:16 • For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life

  3. A Gospel… • a historical account of Jesus’ life and teachings that explains his spiritual significance

  4. Synoptic Gospels • Matthew, Mark, Luke… • Means “to see together”

  5. Son of Man… • (Mark 2:10)– But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins" • (Jn. 1:51)– And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.

  6. Son of God… • (Mark 1:1)–The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God • (Jn. 1:34)– And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.".

  7. Savior… • (Matt. 1:21)– She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." • (Jn. 3:16)– "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

  14. JOHN 1:35-37 • The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God!" The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus… One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

  15. Matthew 4:18-22 • While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him

Jesus’ Inner Circle… • (Matt 17:1)– Jesus *took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and *led them up on a high mountain by themselves. • (Mk. 5:37)– And He allowed no one to accompany Him, except Peter and James and John the brother of James • (Mk. 14:32-33)– They *came to a place named Gethsemane; and He *said to His disciples, "Sit here until I have prayed."
