  7. At Home Strategies • Designate a quiet place to work with supplies close at hand. (Dictionary, thesaurus, pencil, paper) • Have a specific time to complete homework • Organize backpack the evening before

  8. Homework Policy If your child is missing homework, they will be benched at recess time where the work is made up if possible. It is their responsibility to bring their homework everyday, NOT YOURS! Notes or phone calls home will be made if this is an ongoing problem.

  9. Homework Progress Reports These will be going home Friday and will be due back on the following Monday or Tuesday. Please look for missing assignments. Behavior for the week will be indicated.

  10. Students will receive a percentage grade for exams taken in class and long term projects. A+ 100% A 94-99% A- 90-93% B+ 87-89% B 84-86% B- 80-83% C+ 77-79% C 74-76% C- 70-73% D+ 67-69% D 64-66% D- 60-63% F 0-59% Homework and in class work will be graded in accordance with report card grades. O, S, and N grades will be used on most assignments. A point system will be used to grade math, reading and writing assignments. Grading Policy

  17. Classroom Rules & Consequences • The classroom rules were developed by the students. We have agreed on the posted behavior expectations. • Discipline focuses on positive reinforcement. • Consequences include: • Writing a letter • Loss of Recess • Phone Call Home • Parent, Student, Teacher Conference **P.A.T. Time***

  18. Volunteer Opportunities • There are many opportunities for you to get involved in our classroom. • There is a sheet in the back of your packet with details. • Also, please visit the class wish list if you wish to donate some things we need in our classroom.
