  1. The Best Way To Drug Clinics Drug clinics offer medical and therapeutic approaches for drug-dependent patients. Clinics tackle addiction by discussing physical and psychological dependence in many ways. Treatment is usually multi-faceted and comes in the form of medications combined with therapy techniques. Therapy may be individualized or group and can be family therapy, cognitive- behavioural therapy, motivational interviews, and incentives or a mix of treatments tailored to the individual patient. Many facilities base or include the 12-Step Model in their programs. Medications can be paired with therapy techniques to accomplish long-term remission. Some clinics offer in-patient service, but more often services are out-patient. Treatment availability is an on-going issue. The rise in opioid addiction paired with insurance limitations makes treatment more difficult to obtain. Often an individual covered by health insurance is limited to the type or length of therapy. Facilities are often overcrowded, and there are lengthy waiting lists for inpatient facilities. For the individual who is under, or un-insured, treatment options are even more limited or often absent. For these populations searching for facilities can be very lengthy and involved. One type of program to search for is state-funded drug clinics. Public funds support these clinics. Another treatment possibility for low-income or underinsured patients is faith-based programs. For instance, the Salvation Army sponsors drug clinics. Most of these programs require patients to be state residents, have zero income or insurance and be a legal U.S. resident. Another faith-based program is the Orthodox Jewish Chabad in-patient treatment center for men in California. There are a few more options for individuals who are not insured. Some places offer scholarships for under-insured and low-income patients. These awards are often through specific private drug clinics. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (“SAMHSA”) also has grants available for treatment through different state-run facilities. 12-Step program meetings are free and easy to find. Though they are not treatment within themselves, they are active support for recovery and continued sobriety. Many people insured under the Affordable Care Act, sometimes referred to as “Obamacare,” (“ACA”) may be unsure what treatment is covered by their insurance. The ACA requires insurances to cover the cost of drug clinics. Also, Medicaid under ACA expansion must cover drug clinic treatment. Insurance coverage amounts and limits may vary. SAMHSA is an excellent resource in the search for a local drug clinic. SAMHSA keeps a directory of Single State Agencies for Substance Abuse Services. Also, SAMHSA maintains a National Helpline for substance abuse services. (1-800-662-HELP (4357))

  2. In summary, drug-addicted populations who are willing to combat their substance dependence have many places to find information and support on their healing journey. Even patients seeking treatment who live in poverty, are unemployed or even on the streets can find treatment. Articles Source : http://firstcanadianpharm.com/best-way-drug-clinics/
