  3. GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM 1 Sam 25:9-10 And when David's young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased. And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master. • Nabal knew of David but totally despised him.

  4. GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM Deut 18:5-7 For YHWH thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of YHWH, him and his sons for ever. And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and come with all the desire of his mind unto the place which YHWH shall choose; Then he shall minister in the name of YHWH his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, which stand there before YHWH. • Only the Levites were authorized to do so. • Why didn’t the Levites have any inheritance?

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM Deut 18:18-20 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. • Speaking in YHWH’s name was an ‘extension’ of YHWH. • The work was a manifestation of YHWH.

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM 1 Sam 17:45-47 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the YHWH of hosts, Elohim of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will YHWH deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that YHWH saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is YHWH’s, and he will give you into our hands.

I called upon YHWH in distress: YHWH answered me, and set me in a large place. YHWH is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? YHWH taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in YHWH than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in YHWH than to put confidence in princes. All nations compassed me about: but in the name of YHWH will I destroy them. They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of YHWH I will destroy them. They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of YHWH I will destroy them. • Our goal is to work in the Name of YHWH. • God Manifestation at work.

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM 1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. • Obviously, we must first come to know His will so our requests will reasonable. • God Manifestation at work.

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM Mic 4:4-5 KJV But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it. For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever. • This appears to be the time period of the Kingdom. • It what sense then, will people walk in the name of their god?

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM Mic 4:4-5 NKJV But everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree, And no one shall make them afraid; For the mouth of the LORD of hosts has spoken. For all people walk each in the name of his god, But we will walk in the name of the LORD our God Forever and ever. • Almost all explanations follow the trend in more recent translations and change the period of times being compared. • Is it right?

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM Mic 4:4-5 KJV But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it. For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever. • If the tense in both cases being compared should be future, God Manifestation at least provides a plausible explanation.

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM • YHWH or Kurios? • Kurios is not a name. • In the name of YHWH. • In fulfillment of scripture (Psa.118:36) • Yahshua (Luke 1:31,32) Mark 11:9-10 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM Acts 3:6-8 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. • Power in the name of Yahshua. • Not magic, but real power.

  16. GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM • This may limit our actions. • Reason why we ask through Him. Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM Phil 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. • YHWH is glorified through the Son. • The name of YHWH is glorified through the Son.

GOD MANIFESTATION: IN THE NAME OF YHWH OUR ELOHIM • The Son came in the Father’s name. • (John 5:43) • The Spirit was sent in the Son’s name. • (John 14:26) • Illustrates the unity of purpose associated with God Manifestation. Matt 28:18-19 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

  19. Addendum: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! GOD MANIFESTATION - NAMES AND TITLES OF DEITY

  20. GOD MANIFESTATION: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! • The profane manner such as “O my God” • God takes note of all our behaviour. Ex 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

  21. GOD MANIFESTATION: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! • What Name should be hallowed? • Certainly His Memorial Name. • Any name that identifies us with God. Matt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

  22. GOD MANIFESTATION: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! Num 6:23-27 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. • YHWH was pleased to see his name used this way. • Many people’s names honored YHWH.

  23. GOD MANIFESTATION: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! • Speech used by people who understood it. • This kind of reverence in daily life would honor YHWH. Ruth 2:4 And behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said unto the reapers, The LORD be with you. And they answered him, The LORD bless thee.

  24. GOD MANIFESTATION: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! Prov 30:8-9 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain. • Both ways take God’s name in vain. • A way of life being pointed out here. • Note the causes.

  25. GOD MANIFESTATION: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! Ezek 36:22-23 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. • God will not allow the honor of His Name to fall victim to human failure. • He will intervene to ensure His Name never fails to achieve its objective.

  26. GOD MANIFESTATION: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! Isa 48:9-11 For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off. Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. • God will not allow the honor of His Name to fall victim to human failure. • He will intervene to ensure His Name never fails to achieve its objective.

  27. GOD MANIFESTATION: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! • To swear falsely is to say you will do something before YHWH and not perform it. • This is an all too common human experience. Lev 19:12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.

  28. GOD MANIFESTATION: TAKING THE NAME IN VAIN! Mal 3:16-18 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
