  1. The capital city of Ethiopia is Addis Ababa and it is the major city in Ethiopia. The population of the city is 3,384,569. As a chartered city, Addis Ababa has the status of both a city and a state. It is where the African combination and its ancestor the OAU are based. It also hosts the head office of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and many other international organizations. Addis Ababa is thus generally referred to as "the political capital of Africa" due to its historical, political and diplomatic implication for the continent.   3. Best time to visit Addis Ababa • The dry season from October to May is the best time to visit Addis Ababa. Though there is never a real rout of tourists stepping off flights to Ethiopia, the dry season is the time when hotels are more likely to be booked and attractions will be busier.

It is situated in the Bole area, 6 km southeast of the city centre and 65 km north of DebreZeyit. Formerly known as HaileSelassie I International Airport. It is the main hub of Ethiopian Airlines, the national airline that serves destinations in Ethiopia and throughout the African continent, as well as nonstop service to Asia, Europe, North America and South America.

Photography is permitted both within and outside of the building, apart from one off-limits position outside where cops are posted. The tombs of Selassie and his wife are in the back, behind a gate.
