  2. United States Power Squadrons • A boating organization made up of fellow boating enthusiasts interested in furthering their boating education, participating in social events with fellow boaters and participating in civic activities connected with safe boating.

  3. History • USPS was formed in 1914 by John Upton, a power boater in the Boston Yacht Club. • APS was chartered in 1939 and met in the old Burkhardt’s Brewery in downtown Akron.
