  1. Healthy mode of life Teaching methodology

  2. The kitchen can be a fascinating place for young children. They see grown-ups working briskly in there, watch the steam rise from pots on the stove, and smell what's on the menu that night.

  3. Younger kids can watch what you're doing and help out with small tasks, like stirring something or setting the table. Older kids can be taught how to crack eggs or measure ingredients.

  4. Healthy school There is a “Healthy school” in LiudvinavasKazys Boruta Secondary School.

  5. Healthy school This school attend the pupils from the first and the second forms.

  6. Healthy school The vice – director Rymantė Marcinkevičienė leads the “Healthy school” circle.

  7. The First Form The students study the themes: • The garden goods. • What grew in the kitchen garden? • I live healthy. • I attend my body. • I know what to eat.

  8. The Second Form The students study the themes: • Forest goods. • Mushrooms where are you? • I eat healthy and I am active. • Not only the cup of milk.

  9. The Third Form The sudents study the themes: • When the fruit mature? • Grain. Where are they from?

  10. The Fourth Form The students are introduced with different eating habits: • Don’t eat too much. • Eat more often. • Use different food. • Drink five cups of liquid a day. • During eating don’t read, don’t watch TV.

  11. The Fourth Form The students are introduced with protein. It is the most important component of every cell.

  12. The Fourth Form The students know that fat makes to the human body the immunity.

  13. The Fourth Form The teacher introduces students carbohydrates. She tells them that this material is the main source of energy.

  14. The Fourth Form The students know that fruit and vegetables are packed full of vitamins, minerals and fibre that help protect the body from illness.

  15. The Fifth form The students in the fifth form are introduced to healthy food in chapter Food is uneven to food. They are said that our appearance and feelings belong to what we eat. If we eat food which has enough necessary nutrients then our body grows and develops and we are employable and fresh.

  17. The Fifth form The students are given a recipe how to make a very easy meal from curd: • Take one pack of curd. • Shred carrot and some garlic. • Put 1 – 2 spoons of cream. • Mix everything. • Eat with black bread.

  18. The sixth form The students have the chapter Healthy mode of life where they are studying various food and talk about sports.

  19. The sixth form The students are told that they need a lot of protein, vitamins, mineral stuff (particularly calcium and ferrum). All these things are in milk, meat, beans, eggs, fruit, vegetables, grains.

  22. The sixth form The following tasks: • Count how much energy you get; • Compare your information with given in the table if you get enough energy; • Make conclusion about your nourishment; • Is your meal various? • Has it all main stuff?

  23. The seventh form The teacher tells the students about Carbohydrates. That help fuel the body by providing energy. We have to make sure we balance the energy that goes out, with food and water that comes into the body. We can replace lost energy by eating foods rich in carbohydrates and drinking plenty of water.

  24. The seventh form You can increase your carbohydrates by: • always having a breakfast • having thick sliced toast like whole grain bread • eating brown rice or pasta • having boiled potatoes rather than chips which are cooked in fats

  25. The seventh form The students know that Protein is good for the body as it helps to build and repair cells and muscles.It is very important for the body growth. The body does not save up Protein that is why we need to get it enough with our food every day.

  26. The seventh form The students are introduced that Fats give the body energy for growth, but they need to make sure they eat the right amount as too much fat can be bad for us. Fats are very important as a stuff which save up warmth.

  27. The seventh form You can increase your vitamins and minerals by: • drinking a glass of pure fruit juice with breakfast; • eating fruit rather than sweets as a snack; • having a fruit salad for dessert; • eating two servings of vegetables or salad for your evening meal.

  28. The eighth form Vitamin C: We can find it in: Parsleys and in other green vegetables, cabbages, apples, oranges, lemons, tomatoes and potatoes. It is very useful for: • Sight • Bones • Teeth developing • Healing wounds.

  29. The eighth form Vitamin D: We can find it in: Milk, butter, fish and egg yolk. It is very useful for: • Fortifying bones • Fortifying teeth

  31. The eighth form Ferrum: We can find it in: Meat, liver, egg yolk. It is very useful for: Red blood cells and muscles.

  32. The eighth form Bad eating habits: • Do not eat breakfast. • Like to snack sweet and fat food: eat a lot of crisp, cakes, chocolates, sweets, ice-creams. • Drink a lot of sweet drinks. • Like fast food: pizzas, fish fingers, sausages. • Do not eat enough fruits and vegetables.

  33. The ninth form Problems of nourishment • People do not take sports, only spend a lot of time near TV, in the cars, cafe. • They use fast food which do not have vitamins. • They use a lot of sweet and fat food which can invade our health.

  34. The ninth form The students are introduced with healthy eating pyramid. They are said that it is very important to eat a lot of unprocessed, natural, fresh food, particularly grain meals and vegetables and fruits.

  35. Health is the biggest our wealth. That is why it is so necessary to teach our children’s how to live healthy mode of life. Our Schools in Lithuania do it from the Primary school to Secondary school.
