Achievements during the year 2001

1. Achievements during the year 2001 • Created IEEE CPMT Scandinavian Joint Chapter between Sweden, Norway and Denmark with the help of Rolf Aschenbrenner, CP Wong, Jim Morris and Ephraim Suhir • Created a serie of IEEE CPMT workshops with in Sweden including:Jim Morris, Ephraim Suhir, C P Wong, Jianmin Qu and Yi Fan Quo from USA • Created a number of regular packaging seminar series which are open for the whole IEEE CPMT Scandinavian members by informing them regularly using email. • Helped to initiate and creation of the IEEE CPMT Swedish Student Chapter • Helped to promoto and establishment of Shanghai student as well as regular chapter • Translated the webtext for ”IEEE CPMT Who is Who” from English into Chinese • Helped to make the Shanghai HDP´02 conference a technical-co-sponsored conference • Helped to be in the IEEE marketing team by joining telephone meetings from overseas with Connie, Marsha and CP etc • Participated actively in the discussion and future planning for the Polytronik conference series

2. Plans for the year 2002 • To create a platform for collaboration between the Finish IEEE CPMT Chapter and the IEEE CPMT Scandinavian Chapter by forming a nordic event which goes around in various countries in Northern European Countries • To activate the planning and the organization of IEMT Europe Conference in 2003 • To continue to promoto various activities such as Polytronik, HDP conference series, seminar series as well as workshop acitivities

3. Comments and suggestions as to how to promoto global growth of IEEE CPMT Society • Still very large focus on US activity • Make sure that IEEE CPMT Society is physically represented by the BOG member in the IEEE CPMT Sponsored conferences in the world as much as possible by making a plan at the start of each year • We need to create a strong core team who cares and promotes the IEEE CPMT growth and activities in Europé by: • Forming a IEEE CPMT European Activity contact office in for instance IZM, Germany • Arranging annual or regular CPMT Chair meetings in Europe to increase collaboration and cohesion between different European Chapters.
