  6. Public Transit Grants • Funding – FTA Section 5311 (Rural Area Formula), administered by Alaska DOT&PF • Distributed by formula: • 50% population of area served • 25% route miles • 25% projected rides • Cap of $1,000,000 per community per year

Public Transit Grants • Provided funding for: • Capital (ex. vehicles, radios, transit technology), 9.03% match • Operating (ex. driver salaries, fuel, vehicles insurance), 43.14% match • Project Administration (ex. salaries for administrative staff, marketing, office supplies), 9.03% match • Training, no match requirements

  9. Public Transit Eligibility • Who can receive rural transit grant funds: • Local governmental authorities (including tribal governments) • Non-profit organizations • Operators of public transit that receive FTA grant funds indirectly through a recipient
