CORPORATE SAFETY The role of Corporate Safety is to provide leadership, counsel and independent analysis on Safety activities with the goal of eliminating injuries and illnesses related to our Company’s operations. The key responsibilities are: • Develop and communicate Safety policies, procedures and programs and ensure that they are disseminated, implementation facilitated and evaluation of improvement undertaken • Develop and facilitate implementation of the Integrated Safety Management System and associated Standards • Lead identification of safety “best practices” for deployment throughout the organization 2

CORPORATE SAFETY • Communicate Safety Vision, Principles, Goals and current Performance for cascading throughout the organization • Support APEX & Sub Committees in undertaking regular and systematic reviews of performance and compliance with TATA Power’s policies and programs • Support all SBU’s & Projects in their safety responsibilities by assisting them in identifying and resolving safety issues • Evaluate and report on the status of compliance with standards, provide technical Safety advice where appropriate and recommend remedial actions • Facilitate safety leadership capability building through appropriate safety training at all levels 2

Site Safety Personnel • For their area of responsibility and within the scope of their position • Facilitate implementation, review and evaluation of TATA Power’s Integrated Safety Management System and programs • Develop and support implementation of SBU / Project Site safety plans and programs • Ensure that local legislation, codes of practice and TATA Power’s standards & procedures are incorporated into SBU / Project site Safety plans, procedures and training programs • Provide daily Safety advice to site management and safety committees • Support SBU / Project site risk assessments, preparation and implementation of control action plans and re-evaluation of controls 2

  5. Site Safety Personnel • Monitor compliance to SBU / Project site standards, procedures & programs through support in conducting periodic internal audits • Facilitate external audits • Facilitate setting standards / arrangements for • Safety equipment • Safe systems of work • Safety training 2

  6. Site Heads, Project Managers & HOD’s Within their area of responsibility: • Review and endorse TATA Power’s safety management system and programs through active participation in Apex / Corporate / Site Safety Committees • Deploy TATA Power Safety and related policies and any SBU / Project specific safety policies • Demonstrate commitment to excellence and leadership in Safety through active participation in safety programs • Ensure legislative compliance • Identify, assess and control risk as low as reasonably practical • Facilitate process to address non-compliance with Cardinal Rules and local rules and procedures 2

  7. Site Heads, Project Managers & HOD’s • Ensure effective communication and consultative mechanisms are established • Ensure Safety is considered in design, planning and conduct of all operations and project activities • Monitor Safety performance of direct reports • Dedicate appropriate resources to Safety activities • Ensure all high potential incidents are investigated as to the root causes and the recommendations for preventing recurrence are implemented • Provide the necessary instruction, information, training and supervision to enable employees and contractors to carry out work safely • Implement corrective and preventive actions determined from audits, hazard analysis & incident investigation reports or data analysis 2
