Origen del término • En el sentido específico de señalar las tensiones geopolíticas entre la Unión Soviética y Estados Unidos, el término Guerra Fría ha sido atribuido al financiero estadounidense y consejero presidencial Bernard Baruch.1 El 16 de abril de 1947, Baruch dio un discurso en el que dijo «No nos engañemos: estamos inmersos en una guerra fría».2 El término fue popularizado también por el columnista Walter Lippmann con la edición en 1947 de un libro titulado Guerra fría.3
