The begining of the project… • An answer to the King’s mandate • An initiative of the NET (National Employment and Training) • An international call for tender • The choice of the proposal of the CREDIJ with the French Ministry of Education • A partnership between the GRETA Network and a Jordan Company • The launch in June 2008

The objectives of the project (1) TRAINERS • Train 200 professionals of the construction sector to become efficient trainers in 10 professions in the field • Provide them adequate training tools • Train them through « learning by doing » • To make them able to provide a training set-up based on « alternance » of theoritical and practical teaching/learning • Deliver them a Certificate of « Trainer in the construction sector » using the Europass framework • From July 2OO8  August 2009

  4. The objectives of the project (2) TRAINEES • Train 3000 trainees in 10 professions of the construction sector • A training based on theory and practicing • 6 months in a training centre • 6 months « on-job » in companies • Deliver them a certification based on the French vocational certificates (1st level of qualification – CAP – BEP) and using the Europass • From September 2OO8  August 2009

The objectives of the project (3) TOOLS (elaborated by French team) • Create adapted training tools for the training of the trainers • Upgrading their technical skills in adequacy with the French standards • Improving their ability to transfere their knowledge and kwow-how • Create adapted tools for the training of the trainees • Create certification tools based on French standards and using the Europass framework

  6. Implementation of the training • Trainers • 6 weeks / job • 4 weeks / pedagogy by French team (with interpreters) • Trainees • 10 weeks / training • 18 weeks / on-job training • 6 months in companies by jordan trainers • Following up of the process by French team (with interpreters)

Training the Trainers by professional Instructors from France that concentrated on the following: • Pedagogy: How to handle training, how to follow-up individualized learning and to fit the proper corrective measures • Safety & Security: Major emphasis was to make sure that they follow the Intended of Security Safety of the professions • Life long follow-up: By the end of the project the Trainers would have acquired the skills to prepare on the their own additional new material as the need arises.

Training the trainees Relevant tools elaborated by professional instructors Rythm of learning adapted to learners with a low level of qualification Alternance of learning in the center / learning « on job » Individualized follow up Positive pedagogy, with the aim that most of the trainees succeed : several chances to get the diploma

The French partnership • CREDIJ (non-profit association created in 1983 by the Ministry of Labour for local developement, training and job insertion) • DAFPIC - DAFCO – GIP (Academic Authorities of Paris – Ministry of Education) • GRETA Network (Vocational Education and Training – Ministry of Education)

The next steps (1) • Promoting careers perspectives in the construction sector through a wider training offer:  new professions  from basic level to higher level (skilled worker  expert/manager) • Upgrading qualifications related to sustainable development and energy saving technologies in the construction sector

  14. The next steps (2) • Joining the UNE-VOC Network (UNESCO – Vocational Education & Training) • Creating a UNESCO Chair  professionalization of the VET teachers and trainers  professionalization of the training in the construction sector

  15. The next steps (3) • Developing a Euro-Mediterranean cooperation • Spreading a regional cooperation between Middle-East countries  To promote LifeLong Learning in VET

  16. Trainers 230 trainers in the field of construction trades,  validated by French inspectors from the french ministry of education, on the same criteria as the French trainers

  17. Trainees Previsted : 5 200 trainees Around 12 500 trainees so far  CO-validated by French inspectors from the French ministry of education, and the NET
